Watch the short video below to learn the basics. You'll be an UR Ecochallenge: Costa Rica expert in no time!
I will attend “Do Costa Rican forest fragments in community-managed water protection areas serve as a refuge for endangered mammals?” at 4:30 p.m. in the INTC Commons.
You have already completed this action during the Challenge. Removing the action could cause you to lose points. Are you sure you want to do this?
ONE-TIME ACTION
Costa Rica is known for the prevalence of stray dogs. Territorio de Zaguates is a dog sanctuary famous for its efforts to rescue, neuter, and rehome thousands of dogs. Today, I will read about and/or donate to Tierra de Zaguates or register to volunteer at local animal shelter.
I will offer to help two people who are in need each day this week.
DAILY ACTION
I will spend 60 minutes learning about environmental justice issues in Richmond.
I will use the resource links and spend 60 minutes learning about the native populations that lived in my area prior to colonization and what I can do to support those that still exist.
I will meet one new office, dorm, or apartment neighbor each day.
I will learn about equity and inclusion resources on campus and in Richmond.
I will shop from two women-owned businesses this week.
I will connect with a local nonprofit and find out how I can get involved or become a member.
I will purchase produce and meat from a local farmers market or food co-op.
