Welcome to the University of Richmond South Africa Sustainability Challenge

University of Richmond is celebrating International Education Week with South Africa-inspired actions! Inspired by its diversity of cultures and breathtaking natural environment, we've created the South Africa Sustainability Challenge, powered by the Campus EcoChallenge.

This one week challenge will allow you to choose South African-inspired behaviors that have a positive impact on you, your environment, and the campus community. Each action you adopt will earn you points. At the end of the challenge, the three competitors with the highest point totals will win prizes connected to Africa’s southernmost nation.

Take a Virtual Tour of South Africa

Each morning, you can start the day with a stop on our virtual tour of South Africa. We’ll send you an email based on each day’s theme and actions with information about a unique location, community, or organization related to sustainability in South Africa. During our virtual tour you’ll learn about what makes South Africa special, the environmental assets and issues specific to the region, and what the country is doing to support sustainable environments and communities.

You can find more information on our Resources page.
