Project Drawdown Climate Solutions 101 series has been really great so far -- watched the two for this challenge; however, I've bookmarked the series so that I can watch the remaining ones!

      Andrea,

How funny for you to say that you're going to watch the remaining videos. Last night I watched the first three, but this morning I went back and watched the remaining three. It's a great series, and inspiring too.

Finished watching the video on Chile's lithium mining problem.  Even new "renewable/green" energy is not perfect and it is sad to see that the mining operations has had such devastating effects on the communities.  The amount of water that lithium mining uses can cause droughts and famine if not kept in check; and the potential amount of money that can be made from lithium will be very hard to get past the greed factor.  As a result, my guess is that most governments are struggling to put the necessary "checks" (ie. regulations) in place to ensure safety to the environment over profits.

So impressed reading about all of the green energy infrastructure that Chile and the rest of South America have been able to accomplish in such a short time!  So good to know!  Wish the United States hadn't fallen behind on that front, but hopefully we can make up some time over the coming years and get back on track.
