I went to the Festival of Lights yesterday to see my friends perform. It was so fun to see the traditional Japanese dance. The Chinese Scholars and Students Association (CSSA) had a table at the event talking about Chinese food, traditions, and students who are studying abroad.
  • Reflection Question
Waste - Day 5 Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?

    Maggie Dong 11/13/2019 6:28 AM
It's always hard to just use one water bottle when the filter at the lib is red. I'll usually go to Eight Fifteen and buy a cup of water there. I used paper cups for the past, but I think I can bring my own water bottle next time.

I can put in a work order for this Maggie!

      Maggie,

Where is the water fountain with the red filter? Let me know and I'll report it to facilities so it can be changed. Thanks for pointing this out!

  • Reflection Question
Simplicity - Day 2 Track my Purchases
What have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?

    Maggie Dong 11/13/2019 6:25 AM
I cleaned my closet last night and realized that I have so many cloths that I never wore. I am not happy about myself wasting all these clothes. I'm working to limit my purchases and avoid unnecessary things.

    • Kevin Creamer 11/13/2019 8:22 AM
My wife and I went to the Tidying Up discussion Tuesday at noon. It's really interesting to take inventory of all the stuff we have. I like the phrase "the wealth of selection not the wealth of accumulation." I've even gotten to the point where I think about whether I want a new book in paper format, or if I am fine having it as a Kindle or Audible book. I'm purging books in my house because I've got too many of them, and there are some that I'm just not going to read again.
